Eligibility For B.P.Ed

THE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTRAORDINARY [PART III—SEC. 41 
 
The B.P.Ed. Programme shall be of duration of two academic years or of four semesters. However, the students shall he permitted to complete the programme requirements within a maximum of three years from the dat admission to the programme.
 
 
2.2 Working Days :
 
Then shall be at least 200 working days per year exclusive of admission and examination etc. The institution shall work for a minimum of 36 hours in a week (five or six days a week).
 
 
3. Intake, Eligibility and Admission Procedure
 
3.1 Intake :
 
There shall be a basic unit of 100 (one hundred) students with two sections of 50 (fifty) each.
 
3.1 Eligibilty :
 
  • (a) Bachelor's degree in any discipline with 50% marks and having at least participation in the Inter-College/ Inter-Zonal/ District/ School competition in sports and games as recognized by the AIU/IOAJSGFI/Govt. of India. 
 
Or
 
  • (b) Bachelor's degree in physical education with 45% marks.
 
Or
 
  • (c) Bachelor's degree in any discipline with 45% marks and studied physical education as compulsory,' elective subject. 
 
Or 
 
  • (d) Bachelor's degree with 45% marks and having participated in National/ Inter University/ State competitions or secured 10, 2' or 3' position in Inter college/ Inter-Zonat/ District. School competition in sports and games as recognized by the AIU/10A/SGFI/Govt. of India. 
 
 
Or
 
  • (e) Bachelor's degree with participation in international competitions or secured 1st . 2nd or 3rd position in National/ Inter-University competition in sports and games as recognized by respective federations,' AIU/10A/SGFI/Govt. of India. 
 
Or 
 
  • (f) Graduation with 45% marks and at least three years of teaching experience ( for deputed in-service candidates i.e. trained physical education teachers/ coaches)
 
The relaxation in the percentage of marks in the qualifying examination and in the reservation of seats for SCSI/OH(' and other categories shall he as per the rules of the Central Government State Government. whichever is applicable. 
 
 
3.2 Admission Procedure :
 
Admission shall he made on merit on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance examination (written test, sports proficiency test, physical fitness test, and marks obtained in the qualifying examination) or any other selection process as per the policy of the I linversity/ State (iovernmentil rr Administration. 
 
 
3.3 Fees :
 
The institution shall charge only such fee as prescribed by the affiliating body State Govt. concerned in accordance with provisions of NUTS ((illidelines for Regulations of tuition fees and other tees chargeable by unaided teacher education institutions) Regulations 2002, as amended from time to (lane and shall not charge donation, capitation fee etc. front the students.
 
 
4. Curriculum, Programme Implementation and Assesiment 
 
4.1 Curriculum :
 
The B.P.Ed. Programme shall be designed to integrate the study of childhood, social context of physical education, subject knowledge. pedagogigal knowledge, aims of physical education and communication skills. The programme comprises of compulsory and optional theory courses and compulsory school internship. The theory and practical courses shall be assigned a weightage in the proportion determined by the affiliating body. It shall be in broad alignment with the curriculum framework suggested by NCTE (revised from time to time) for the state or region concerned.

2.2 Working Days :
 
 
  • (a) There shall be at least 200 working days in each academic year one hundred working days in each semester exclusive of period of examination and admission etc.
 
 
  • (b) The institution shall work for a minimum of thirty six hours in s week (five or six days a week) during which physical presence in the institution of all the teachers and teacher educators is necessary to ensure their availability for advice, guidance, and consultision, as and when needed. 
 
 
3. Intake. Eligibility and Admission Procedure 
 
 
3.1 Intake :
 
There shall be a basic unit or 40 (forty) students for each year.
 
 
3.2 Eligibility :
 
  • (a) achelor of Physical Education I  IS PIA.) or equivalent with at least 50% marks.
 
OR
 
Bachelor of Science (B.Sc..) in Health and Physical Education with at least 50% marks.
 
  • (b) The reservation in seats and relaxation in the qualifying marks for SCIST/OBC/PWD and other categories shall be as per the rules of the Central Government / State Government....whichever is applicable.
 
 
3.3 Admission Procedure
 
Admission shall he made on merit on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance examination (written test, fitness test. interview and percentage in qualifying examination) or any other selection process as per the policy of the State Go, ernment/Affiliating University.
 
 
3.4 Fees
 
The institution shall charge only such fee as prescribed by the affiliating body / State Government concerned in accordance with provisions of National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) (Guidelines for regulations of tuition fees and other fees chargeable by unaided teacher education institutions) Regulations. 2002, as amended from time to time and shall not charge donations, capitation fee etc. from the students. 
 
 
 
4.0 Curriculam, Programme Implementation and Assessment
 
 
4.1 Curriculum
 
The M.P.Ed. The programme shall comprise of compulsory and optional theory courses, and compulsory internship in school,' college! sports organization/ sports academy! sports club. The theory and practical courses shall be assigned a weightagc in the proportion as determined by the affiliating body. It shall be in broad alignment with the curriculum framework suggested by NCTE (revised front time to time) while contextualizing it for the state or region concerned.
 
Information and Communication Technology (ICT). gender, yoga education, and disability/inclusive education shall form an integral part of the M.P.Ed. curriculums.
 
 
(a) Theory Courses :
 
The Theory Courses shall comprise courses in areas of physical education, understanding of research, amid applied areas of advance studies in physical education and sports sciences. The theory courses in the I' year shall include: Research Process in Physical Education and Sports Sciences; Applied Statistics in Physical Education and Sports; Test, Measurement and Evaluation in Physical Education; Yogic Sciences; Scientific Principles of Sports Training; Sports Technology; Physiology of Exercise; Sports Psychology; Sports Biomechanics and Kittesiology; Sports Medicine. In the 2' year. the courses shall include: Sports Management; Curriculum Designs in Physical Education: Athletic Care and Rehabilitation; Sport Journalism and Mass Media Communication Technology: Sports Engineering; Physical Fitness and Wellness; Value and Environmental Education; Education Technology in Physical Education; Health Education and Sports Nutrition; and a Dissertation.
 
 
(b) Practicum :
 
The Practicum Course, which is field-based. shall be designed to give opportunity to acquire professional skills and capacities in various sports, games, physical activities and yoga activities suitable to students. The activities for teaching, coaching and officiating include Track and Field: Swimming; Gymnastics; Yoga; Aerobics (as also self-defence techniques); Racket Sports like Badminton. Table Tennis, Tennis. Squash; Team Games like Baseball, Basketball. Cricket. Football, Handball, Hockey, Netball. Softball, Shooting. Volleyball: Combative. 
 
 
 

Admission Procedure

Students seeking admission to bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed.), Master of Physical Education (M.P.Ed.) course should submit the prescribed application from duly filled and signed by the applicant and parent/ guardian.
 
 
  • ** Application from and college prospectus may be available at the college office after depositing Rs- 300/-(Draft)
 
  • ** Application from and college prospectus may be available by post. In that cases candidates will apply in plain paper enclosing a self-address postpaid envelop of Rs- 40/- and a D.D. of Rs-300/- in favor of.
 
  • ** Application from and college prospectus may be available at the college office in all working days between 8.00 am except Sunday (up to 4.00 pm)
 
  • ** Attested copies of mark sheet and certificates each of Secondary (Madhyamik), Higher secondary, Bachelor degree and Master degree.
 
  • ** For students other Universities Original Migration Certificate (to be submitted within one month after admission).
 
  • ** Character and conduct certificate form the college last studied.
 
  • ** Eight recent stamp size photographs (at the time of admission).
 
  • ** A fitness certificate from registered medical practitioner to undergo physical exercise.
 
  • ** For admitting into the B.P.Ed. & M.P.Ed. Course, students are required to appear in the physical fitness and sports skill performance test. Their academic mark sheet also valued against set norms. The final list is published on the basis of aggregating all the acquired scores (on merit basis). The selected candidates mean are displayed on the college notice board.
